Gucci U-Play Interchangeable Slate Blue Ostrich Paw Watch Kit YFA50003.

The U-Play watch by Gucci is very versatile, with many watch kits that are interchangeable to create entirely new looks for your different moods and styles.  This watch kit in particular is very fashionable.  It’s the Gucci U-Play Interchangeable Slate Blue Ostrich Paw Watch Kit YFA50003.  

What’s great about it:

It’s gorgeous.  The ostrich leather looks rich and interesting; when everyone else is wearing a metal or black leather watch, you can be more original with this slate blue color. Also, a lot of high fashion shoes and bags right now are made of ostrich which would complement this watch.  The U-Play watch (purchased separately for about $650) looks stunning with its polished silver dial in the cool, modern slate blue bezel. Stainless steel horse bit decorations on the band add another fashionable detail, and the stainless steel buckle completes the look. This band is well-made and the inside is stamped with a signature Gucci pattern.

It’s easy: Changing out the band for a new look is easy.  I suggest you go to endless.com, find the u-play watch kit, and see the video demonstrating how the bands are fitted into the watch and how the bezel is screwed on.  Check out all the other colors and materials available to buy for the U-Play, for several individualized looks.  There must be one or two that suit your personality.

What isn’t great about it:  

Confusing product number.  The Gucci U-Play Interchangeable Slate Blue Ostrich Paw Watch Kit YFA50003 looks just like model number YFA50008, with a slight color variation.  Both are called slate blue.  This is confusing.  The Gucci website shows the lighter blue color, but the product is unavailable.  I found the kit on endless.com and shopstyle.com for $250 on each site.  Both sites show the darker colored slate blue, but their product numbers do not agree.  You can clearly see the different shades of blue in the two pictures above. So how do you know what you are getting if you order this one, YFA50003 online?  I suggest you call customer service if you order online, or better yet, try to find the kit in a store so you can see the color in person.  Both Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue sell the U-Play series.

Expensive. Of the variety of kits available for the Gucci U-Play, the ostrich bands are the most expensive.  There are many watches you can buy for $250, the price of this watch kit.  Many other watch kits for the U-Play run about $195.

However, I think this watch band looks very upscale, trendy and rich.  It’s tempting and irresistible, like a wallet would be if it was made of this leather.  So, consider the Gucci U-Play Interchangeable Slate Blue Ostrich Paw Watch Kit YFA50003 to dress up your Gucci U-Play watch.
