Gucci’s Twirl Collection Bangle Style Rotating Face Diamond Women’s Watch YA112503 is both a handsome piece of jewelry and a fine timepiece that give you 2 style choices in one product, for one price. If you prefer to wear silver rather than gold, you will also be interested in this durable stainless steel watch.

The Twirl Collection is singular for its revolving dial, which gives you the option of wearing it as a watch, or simply as an attractive bangle bracelet. The bangle itself is also engraved in the well-known Gucci logo pattern of small, interlocking g’s. It is at once stylish and elegant, without being ostentatious.

This particular model, the YA112503, has the added sparkle of 34 small, quality diamonds circling the copper dial. The effect is an increased sense of elegance, without a lot of flash. I would feel comfortable wearing this watch with casual as well as dressy outfits, day or evening. It could also be paired with a small, simple silver or platinum chain bracelet for added interest.

Potential Drawbacks: This watch was designed to be an attractive piece of jewelry, especially for the Gucci or bangle enthusiast, rather than a highly practical timepiece. There are no hour or minute markings on the dial. This, in addition to the small size of the dial itself, does not make for great visibility, especially at a glance, or in low light. The small size also makes changing the battery awkward. Be sure to take it to a fine jeweler for this purpose, not simply a place that sells watches, or they may not be able to help you.

Personally, I do not care for the revolving dial, as I think that the small g-pattern on its back, and the larger g-pattern on the bangle itself looks too busy when set side by side. However, this is a popular timepiece, and if you loathe watches with straps or big metal links, and love bangles, this may be the watch for you.

 Variations: If you would prefer a larger watch face and band, closer in size to a cuff bracelet, there is an identical, larger version of this watch. It has a 1 ¼” width case, and 7” adjustable band. Because of its increased size, it is set with 37 diamonds on the bezel, rather than 34, as seen on the small version. Retail price is $3625.00. There are also versions of this watch available without diamonds, or with different colored dials. These start at $795 and up.

However, I caution you against purchasing this watch from Amazon, since several customers have reported problems, such as watches arriving with dead batteries, missing paperwork, and frustration with returns. This is a fine quality timepiece. The only way to be sure that you are getting what you pay for is to buy it in person from a reputable Gucci dealer.
