The new Gucci collection G-Timeless watch is built for casual wear and sports. It features a Swiss Made, ETA quartz movement and is available in sizes small, medium, and extra large.

ETA is an abbreviation for ETA SA, a group who designs and manufactures watches from Switzerland. They are a subsidiary of the Swatch group, and specialize in designing mechanical and quartz movement watches. They will often design ebauches, which are incomplete watch movements that another company will finish manufacturing and assembling.

The G-Timeless boasts several noteworthy features for the athlete and sports enthusiast:

The sports version of the timepiece comes with a rotating bezel. However, the watches differ slightly depending on their size. The medium (38.00 mm) and small (27.00 mm) versions come with applied hour markers on the dial, luminous hands, and a date indicator at the 4 o’clock mark. The extra large version (44.00 mm), on the other hand, does not have hour markers. It still comes with luminous hands and the date indicator.

The tachymeter scale is useful for measuring speed. It is similar to a timer or chronograph but typically has a graduated dial allowing you to easily read the numbers.

Sapphire crystal is the finest type of crystal available in watchmaking. It is a full three times stronger than the competing mineral crystal, and 20 times more durable than acrylic crystal. If this watch bumps against something or falls, it is far less likely to break than watches made of lower quality material. Not only is the G-Timeless strong and durable, the crystal is also scratch resistant and painted with a layer of anti-reflective coating to assist readability.

The G-Timeless comes in several varieties. The styles include brushed and polished steel, black PVD treatment, calf, and green and red striped web fabric. The dial is also available in either a diamond pattern or mother of pearl. Depending on the style, the buckle will change as well. For styles made with steel or the PVD black treatment the watch comes with a 3 blade deployment buckle. The calf and rubber strap varieties come with an ardillon buckle.

One of the most apparent advantages of this timepiece is the readability. For the medium and small versions especially, the readability is worthy of comment. As the hands illuminate in the dark, you will always be able to read the time. Furthermore, the hands are large and contrast the watch dial nicely. As the medium and small versions also come with hour markers, it will be quick and easy to glance at your watch and see the time.
