About Gucci

The Gucci empire is well-known in fashion even beyond the world of luxury watches. Creators of leather apparel, shoes, watches, and other accessories, Gucci has been one of the top 100 brands in the world for many years. Like the quality one can expect from their many other lines of fashionable wares, Gucci watches are things of beauty and particular class.
Founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, this Italian brand has made a name for itself over 90 years of quality craftsmanship and progressive designs by artists Tom Ford and Frida Giannini. Prominence in the public eye for Gucci watches began in the mid 90’s and they have only increased in popularity since. They have 278 Gucci stores dedicated solely to their products and also market through high-end fashion retailers like Macy’s and other department stores.
Most Gucci watches are known for the soft silver coloration of their pieces, whereas many other name-brand timepieces prefer gold or other such items. While Gucci also offers gold in some of their pieces, the vast majority of their watches are stainless steel, silver, and faced with sapphire-crystal coverings that are scratch-proof and water resistant. They create watches for men, women, and also unisex lines, including their first-ever line of digital watches in their GRAMMY collection. Gucci tends to lean toward minimalism in their women’s pieces, emphasizing the grace of using less to say far more, while the men’s watches favor the bold and big approach, with dials and faceplates that take up plenty of space.
For years Gucci has had a partnership with UNICEF, the foundation dedicated to the rights and welfare of children. Many of Gucci sales and promotions involve donating to this charity to help raise awareness for the state of children’s lives in third world countries as well as on our own doorstep in the United States. Additionally, watches like the I-Gucci Digital GRAMMY donate money to partner foundations to support their efforts in other parts of the world.
One can expect to pay a decent amount for a Gucci watch. Their popularity is proportionate to their price, but for good reason – each and every Gucci is a collector’s item made with fine materials. Expect to pay between $800 and up to $4000 for their newest collections, some of which are studded in diamonds or other such precious stones. If Zales is where you go for designer jewelry, Gucci is where you go to get everything else.
